Researchers claim a new self-test is able to accurately
detect Alzheimer’s disease in five
minutes.
The British Medical Journal published a new self-administered
test called “Test Your Memory” (TYM). Researchers state that it
is far more accurate than any other screening test currently
used to detect Alzheimer’s disease. The test takes only a few
minutes to complete and can detect even mild cases of the
disease.
According to
researchers, "A score above 42 ... correctly excludes the
diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease on 97 percent of
occasions."
The TYM was able to detect 93 percent of patients with
Alzheimer’s disease, while another test, used for the past 30
years, detected only 52 percent of patients.

The test might be skewed because it’s designed for people
living in the United Kingdom. In the U.S. you should change the
“prime minister” question to “president”. Several of us will
lose a few points on the question asking the year the First
World War began.
We should first note that the results of this test might be
skewed because it's designed for people living in the United
Kingdom. For example, the "prime minister" question should be
replaced with a "president" question in the U.S.
Natural products, diet and lifestyle can have positive impact
on Alzheimer’s if started early enough. I will use this test
with my clients that are concerned about their memory.
