Coronary heart disease refers the failure of the heart circulation to supply adequate
circulation to cardiac heart muscle and surrounding tissue. It is most commonly caused by atherosclerotic
artery disease, heart blood vessel spasm and stenosis or narrowing of the blood vessels in the heart.
Utah scientists at Brigham Young University searched medical and research literature and found six well designed,
randomised control clinical trials and prospective studies. Doctors and researchers gave 130 to 800 mg of magnesium
The studies demonstrated that supplemental magnesium decreased the progression of coronary heart disease in
None of the studies reported any adverse effects from magnesium supplementation.

Magnesium is used in over 300 processes in the body. Most adults get a little over ½ of their daily requirement
from their diet.
Dietary sources of magnesium include green, leafy vegetables, meats, grains, nuts and milk.
I’ve found the best absorbed magnesium to be Magnesium Glycinate. It’s found in many of our products including
OptiMag. It takes very little stomach acid to split the Magnesium ion from the Glycinate.
Vitamin D then assists with the absorption of the magnesium ion into the blood system.
If you are low in stomach acid or vitamin D you are increasing your risk of being low in magnesium. Come by our
office to evaluate your stomach acid symptoms and to get your vitamin D blood test.
