Magnesium Helps Lower Blood Pressure Naturally

Magnesium supplement lowers high blood pressure
naturally in overweight people.
A double blind, placebo-controlled, randomized trial (the best
type of medical study) of 115 overweight participants received
magnesium 300 mg per day or placebo for 12 weeks. In those with
an elevated blood pressure the magnesium supplement lowered
their blood pressure more than the placebo.
The daily magnesium supplement did not lower blood pressure,
nor did the supplement cause adverse effects in those with
normal or low blood pressure.[1]
Magnesium improves blood vessel compliance and allows the blood
vessels to relax and open normally.[2] This is one of several
mechanisms in blood pressure control.
